PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: May 2025

Hi there! Thanks for being curious about how we handle your info.

This Privacy Policy is here to explain what kind of data we collect (and what we don’t), how we use it, and what your rights are when you visit our website or sign up for our events and emails. Just like everything we do at One Love One Voice NC, we try to keep this human, respectful, and aligned with our values—no sneaky stuff, no spammy nonsense, and no complicated jargon if we can help it.

We want you to feel safe, seen, and respected—on stage and online.

1. Email Marketing & Communication

We will never spam you, and we will never ever sell your email address or contact information. That’s just not our vibe.

By subscribing to our newsletter or joining our events, you may receive occasional updates, announcements, or invitations from us. We keep it low-volume, relevant, and from the heart—no endless promotions or gimmicks. Our emails are typically about upcoming workshops, new songs, collaborations, or meaningful community news.

We may also occasionally send reminders via social media (like Instagram), or use retargeted social ads to let you know about new offerings. While we do our best to keep things respectful and not invasive, if you ever feel overwhelmed or simply don’t want to hear from us, that’s totally okay—you can unsubscribe any time (see below).

If you're receiving event info through a partner studio or business, see Section 2 below for how their policies may apply.

2. Partner Events

If you register for a workshop through a partner studio or business, your contact information may be stored in their system. This could mean:

  • You may be added to their email list

  • You may receive follow-up emails or promotions from them

While we don’t control how our partners manage their own email marketing or databases, we only work with collaborators we trust completely—with our own loved ones. We encourage you to review their privacy policies directly if you have concerns.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to:

  • Know what data is being collected

  • Request a copy of your data

  • Request your data be deleted

  • Opt out of third-party communications

If you ever want to exercise those rights, just email us at oneloveonevoicenc@gmail.com.

3. Data Security

Your info is stored securely and only accessible by our small (and lovely) admin team. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data.

Specifically, we:

  • Use secure, encrypted services (like password-protected spreadsheets, forms, and payment processors)

  • Regularly review who has access to our internal systems

  • Avoid storing any sensitive payment data on our own servers—payments are handled by third-party providers like Stripe or Eventbrite, which use their own security protocols

  • Only keep data for as long as necessary to fulfill our communications or event operations

We do our best to ensure that your data doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. But, like anything on the internet, no system is 100% foolproof. If we ever discover a breach or issue, we’ll notify affected individuals promptly and take steps to address it.

If you ever have concerns about how your data is stored, just ask us: oneloveonevoicenc@gmail.com

4. Opt-Out Anytime

When you submit a contact form or sign up for our newsletter on our website or through a conversation through email or social media, you may be added to our email list and sent emails promoting our movement and our events.

Don’t want to be on our list anymore? Totally fair. You can:

  • Click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any of our emails

  • Or email us directly at oneloveonevoicenc@gmail.com and we’ll manually remove you

No hard feelings—we’ll still be singing your praises.

5. Cookies

Like most websites, we may use cookies to help improve your browsing experience. Cookies are small bits of information stored on your device that help us remember who you are, understand how people are using the site, and occasionally customize things like fonts or display preferences. We do not use cookies to collect personal data or track you across the internet.

You can choose to disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Some site features may not function properly without them, but your overall access won’t be restricted.

5. Photos & Video

When you attend a One Love One Voice NC event, there may be photography or videography taking place. By participating, you agree that your image may be captured and used by us for community-sharing, marketing, or promotional purposes—this includes our website, social media channels, newsletters, and other public platforms.

We do our best to photograph the collective energy of the group and honor each participant's dignity. If you prefer not to be featured in any shared content, please let us know in advance or notify us at the event.

On the flip side, if we capture a moment you love and you'd like to be tagged or credited, just email us or message us on social—we'd be more than happy to highlight your presence and voice.

All photos and videos taken by One Love One Voice NC are our property and may be used at our discretion for promotional and archival purposes. We kindly ask that if you choose to share any of our photos or videos on your own social media or website, please give us credit by tagging or mentioning One Love One Voice NC. It helps honor the work we put into creating this experience and supports our growing community.
